Terms
Terms of service
Last updated October 26, 2026.
The short version. WovenPod makes a podcast for your business. We research, write, fact-check, voice and publish it, and host its feed. Episodes are made with software that uses artificial intelligence and are read by synthetic voices. Every audio file carries data that says so, and that data stays. In Settings, you choose how the closing credits describe the voices, or whether they mention them. You can review each episode before it goes out, ask for changes, or stop it. You are responsible for what you tell us about your business and your sponsors. You own your show, its feed and its episodes. You let us make and host them for you. If you move your show, we point your old feed to the new one. We check factual claims using FactUnion's process. FactUnion is related to us. A checked episode can still contain a mistake. You pay per show, monthly or annual, and your plan renews until you cancel. You can cancel any time. If it is not right for you, we refund your first payment in full within 30 days. We test prices, but each person gets one price, and testing never changes a plan you already have.
The short version helps you read. The full terms below are the agreement.
Who we are
WovenPod is run by Ostrel Software LLC, a company in the United States ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between us and the business that uses WovenPod ("you"). Our privacy notice, at https://wovenpod.com/privacy, is part of them.
WovenPod is for businesses. By signing up, you confirm that you use it for a business, that you are at least 18, and that you may accept these terms for that business. If you add other businesses to your account, these terms cover each of them.
What we make for you
You give us your website and a few answers about your show. We read your site, then research, write, fact-check, voice and publish a podcast for you, on the schedule you choose. We host its RSS feed and help you list it on podcast apps. You can add sponsor businesses. You can also ask for special episodes.
A factual show tells true stories about your field. A fiction show is an audio drama, always labeled as fiction. We use outside providers to run parts of the service. The privacy notice lists them.
We may improve or change how we make episodes. If a change takes away something important you pay for, we tell you first, and you may cancel.
Synthetic voices
Every episode is written with software that uses artificial intelligence, and read by synthetic voices. No real person reads it, and the voices do not copy any real person.
Your show's hosts are synthetic voices with made-up names, portraits and backgrounds. We never clone the voice of a real person, including you or anyone who works for you, even if you ask us to.
Every episode's audio file carries data, readable by apps, that says it was made with synthetic voices. EU law requires this (the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, Article 50), and that data always stays.
In Settings, you choose how the closing credits and the episode notes describe the voices: "Performed by synthetic voices.", "Voices made with artificial intelligence.", or no mention. If you choose no mention, it is your responsibility to make sure that is allowed where you publish and under the rules that apply to you.
- You may not remove or change the data inside the audio file that says the voices are synthetic.
- If you share an episode somewhere else, follow that platform's rules for synthetic content, including its label where it has one.
- You may not present an episode as read or written by a real person.
You review every episode
Each episode waits in your account before its release time. You can listen to it and read its script and its sources.
Up to the release time, you can ask us to change something, hold the episode, or stop it. Do it in your account, or write to [email protected]. We act on every request we receive before the release time. If we cannot make a change in time, we hold the episode until it is fixed.
If you do not ask us to hold or stop an episode before its release time, it goes out on schedule, and that counts as your approval.
If you turned on approval before release for a show, its episodes go out only after someone who runs your account approves each one. Silence never counts for those episodes: one nobody approves in time is held. We record each approval (who approved, when, from which device and network, and the episode it covers), and each email we send you saying an episode is ready to review.
After release, you can ask us to fix or take down an episode at any time. How we fix mistakes is on our corrections page.
The fact check
We check the factual claims in every factual episode using FactUnion's fact-checking process. FactUnion is related to us: today both brands are run by Ostrel Software LLC, under the same ownership. FactUnion's method is public at https://factunion.com/methodology/.
A check looks for published sources for each claim, on the date of the check. Sources can be wrong, or change later. A checked episode can still contain a mistake. The claim count shows how many claims were checked, not a promise that each one is true. An episode is not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
When you talk about the check, use our words: "Every claim checked by FactUnion" or "We use FactUnion's fact-checking process". Do not call it guaranteed, error-free, 100% accurate or independent, and do not suggest that FactUnion is not related to us.
If you or a listener find a mistake, write to [email protected].
Fiction shows
A fiction show is labeled as fiction wherever it appears. It is not fact-checked, and it has no claim count. You may not remove the fiction label, or present a fiction episode as fact.
Your content and your sponsors
You are responsible for what you give us: your website, your answers, your show settings, your sponsor businesses and their messages, and any changes you ask for. You confirm that:
- what you tell us about your business is true, and you may let us use it;
- each sponsor you add has agreed to be named, and its message is true and its own to approve;
- you follow the advertising rules of your industry (for example, rules for lawyers, accountants, financial firms or health businesses);
- any deal with a sponsor is between you and that sponsor. We are not part of it.
Every sponsored episode says who supports it. A sponsor can put its name on an episode, but it never changes what the episode says is true. We may refuse or remove a sponsor, a message or a show topic that breaks these terms or the law, or that we cannot check.
Professional rules
If your work is governed by professional, advertising or filing rules, you alone are responsible for the professional, advertising and filing rules that apply to you, including any notices, labels and disclaimers they require.
We don't give legal advice, and we do not decide whether your show meets those rules. The settings are tools: the disclaimers you add, approval before release, and how the closing credits describe the voices are your choices.
What you may not do
You may not use WovenPod, or ask us to make anything, that:
- is illegal, or breaks someone else's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity);
- is false or misleading about a person or a business, including competitors;
- imitates a real person's voice, or puts words in a real person's mouth;
- is political advertising: shows or sponsors for parties, candidates, campaigns, ballot measures or governments;
- is made for children under 13;
- promotes hate, violence, harassment, or dangerous health or financial claims;
- is spam, or tries to game podcast app rankings.
You may not resell WovenPod without a written agreement with us, copy or take apart our software, get around our limits, or use the service to build a competing product.
Who owns what
Yours. Between you and us, you own your show: its name, its cover, its feed, and its episodes (audio, scripts and notes), and everything you gave us. Once an episode is paid for, we give you any rights we have in it.
Parts of an episode may not be protected by copyright in some countries, because software made them. So we cannot promise that you can stop others from copying them.
The music, sound effects and voices in your episodes come from our providers. You may use them as part of your episodes, anywhere and with no time limit, but not on their own.
What you let us do. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use your content, your business names and logos, and what we read on your and your sponsors' websites, to make, store, host, deliver and list your episodes and feed. The licence lasts while we provide the service, and after that only as needed for your feed redirect, our backups and our legal records.
We may show your show on our website as an example. If you would rather we did not, write to [email protected] and we take it off.
We do not use your content to train artificial intelligence models.
Ours. WovenPod, our software, our methods and our brand stay ours, and FactUnion's marks stay FactUnion's. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely.
Your feed, and moving it
Your show has its own RSS feed at feeds.wovenpod.com. We host it while your plan runs.
- You can move your show to another host at any time. Tell us the new feed address. We point your old feed to it, using a permanent redirect and the new-feed tag that podcast apps read, for at least 12 months, at no charge.
- When your plan ends, your published episodes stay in your feed for at least 90 days. Before we take a feed down, we email you at least 30 days ahead.
- Until then, you can download your episodes, cover and feed file yourself, from Settings in your account. The download link works for 7 days.
- When we list your show on podcast apps, we do it for you. If you leave, we help you move those listings to your own accounts.
Prices and billing
- You pay per show. Your first weekly show has a monthly price. Each extra show, and making a show twice a week, adds an add-on price. A special episode has a one-time price.
- An annual plan costs 10 times the monthly price, paid up front.
- You see the exact price before you pay, and in your account. Prices are in US dollars, without tax. Where the law requires, we add tax.
- There are no per-episode fees and no setup fee.
- When you add a show or an add-on during a billing period, we charge the share for the rest of that period right away. We show you the amount before you confirm.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. You let us charge your payment method at the start of each billing period, and for anything you confirm in your account.
Your plan renews on its own. A monthly plan renews every month, and an annual plan every year, at the price in your account, until you cancel. We email a receipt for each payment. Before an annual plan renews, we email you a reminder at least 15 days ahead.
If a payment fails, we try again and tell you. If it still fails, your plan ends and your podcasts pause. Nothing is deleted, and you can restart.
A special episode is paid before we make it. If we cannot make it, we refund it.
We may change our prices. Your price changes only from your next renewal, and only after we email you at least 30 days ahead. You can cancel before the change.
Price tests
We test prices, so different visitors may see different prices for the same plan. Which price you see is chosen at random, not from anything we know about you.
- One person, one price: once you have seen a price, our site and the app show you the same one.
- When you create an account, that price is kept with it, and every business you add later gets the same prices.
- The price shown before you pay is the price you pay.
- A price test never changes the price of a plan you already have.
A small cookie keeps your price the same from visit to visit. The privacy notice explains it.
Full refund within 30 days
If WovenPod is not right for your business, write to [email protected] within 30 days of your first payment. We refund that first payment in full, monthly or annual, and your plan ends. This refund covers the first payment of one plan per business. It does not cover later renewals.
Pause, stop and cancel
- Pause a show. No new episodes are made. The show keeps its feed, its episodes and its price, and your plan keeps billing.
- Stop a show. It leaves your plan, and its add-on price ends. You get a credit for the unused part on your next bill. Episodes not yet released are canceled. An episode that is already made and due within 24 hours may still go out, unless you ask us to stop it before its release time. Stopping your last show cancels your plan.
- Cancel your plan. Any time, from Settings in your account. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then your podcasts pause and we stop charging. Apart from that first-payment refund, we do not refund the rest of a period.
What we do not promise
We work hard to make good episodes and release them on time. But we provide WovenPod "as is". As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that every episode will release on its day, that a podcast app will accept or keep your show, or that your show will reach a number of listeners. Podcast apps have their own rules, and we do not control them.
Limits on liability
As far as the law allows:
- Neither of us is liable to the other for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, harm to reputation, or indirect or consequential losses.
- Each side's total liability under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- These limits do not apply to your payments to us, to the claims you cover in the next section, or to fraud, intentional harm or gross negligence.
Some laws do not allow these limits. Where they apply, these terms limit liability only as far as those laws allow.
Claims about your content
If someone makes a legal claim against us because of what you gave us (your website, answers, sponsors or messages), a change you asked for, an episode you approved, the notice settings you chose, your dealings with a sponsor, or your breach of these terms or the law, you will defend us and pay the resulting costs, damages and reasonable legal fees. We will tell you about the claim quickly, let you control the defense, and help where we reasonably can. You may not settle a claim that admits fault for us without our consent.
If we suspend or end your account
We may pause or end your account if you break these terms, do not pay, or put us, listeners or others at risk. Where we can, we tell you first and give you time to fix it. If we end your account without a reason like these, we refund any prepaid time you have not used. You can end the agreement any time by cancelling. The sections on ownership, your feed, liability, claims, and law and disputes still apply after it ends.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something we host infringes your copyright, write to [email protected] with: your contact details; the work you own; the address of the episode or page; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own or act for the owner; and your signature. If we remove something of yours after a notice, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. We end the accounts of repeat infringers.
Law and disputes
The laws of the State of Delaware, USA, govern these terms, without regard to rules that would apply another place's law. Before going to court, write to [email protected] and give us 30 days to work it out with you. If we cannot, the state and federal courts in Delaware decide, and both of us accept them. Either of us may still ask any court to stop misuse of its intellectual property. Nothing in these terms takes away a right that the law of your country gives you and does not let a contract remove.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using WovenPod after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, cancel before then. If a change harms you and you cancel an annual plan because of it, we refund the unused months.
Other terms
- These terms, the privacy notice and what you confirm at checkout are the whole agreement between us about WovenPod.
- We may move this agreement to a company that takes over WovenPod, including a new company under the same ownership. We will tell you by email. You may not move it without our consent.
- Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, such as outages of the internet or of a provider, natural disasters, or government action.
- If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a part at once, we can still enforce it later.
- We are separate businesses. Nothing here makes either of us the other's partner, employee or agent.
- You agree that we may send notices by email to your account address, and that agreeing online is the same as signing.
- You may not use the service where US or EU sanctions forbid it.
